The Wow Factor

If you are looking to create an ambience of contemporary sophistication in your home, there are many ways in which to do so today. The latest in home cinemas or temperature-controlled wine cellars tempts us by offering that all important ‘wow’ factor.

However the discouraging thought of tradesmen in the house for weeks on end, accompanied by dust, grime and general upheaval can be off-putting for even the most tolerant of individuals.

If you are contemplating the next wave of home renovations, one much less disruptive and also affordable project could be a straightforward bathroom makeover. Gone are the days where we made do with a simple tub in front of the fire. Today, our bathrooms offer private spaces for relaxation and contemplation and their interior design is more important that ever.

Where time is of the essence for many of us, the choice to take a shower in preference to a bath is increasingly widespread. So why not transform your bathroom by installing a breath-taking shower enclosure? These modern fittings have become a focal point in our bathing space and the installation of a frameless glass shower can offer the sensational effect many of us are looking for. These elegant fixtures are becoming increasingly popular within stylish residential properties around the country.

In the heart of rural Surrey, one luxury mansion has recently benefited from the installation of a sauna, steam room, changing area and shower all featuring frameless glass doors and panels. The overall effect is one of simple understated chic.

Battersea-based Glasstrends Limited, responsible for the design and installation of the frameless glass at the Surrey project, are experts in creating bespoke frameless shower enclosures for both domestic and commercial properties. Andrew Long, Managing Director and founder of the company commented: ‘A project on this scale gave us the opportunity to show that we can create a uniform but tasteful appearance whilst meeting very differing technical requirements. The fitting of sauna and steam room doors raises additional considerations to those of a simple shower area.’

With the right advice, it’s easy to design a shower enclosure that meets your functional requirements, while complementing the overall look and feel of your home. And, to kick off your morning with an invigorating shower in beautiful surroundings can just add that little bit of magic we sometimes all need to start the day!

There is a choice of standard clear glass with a natural green hue or ultra clear low iron glass, which appears colourless. Glasstrends also offers the option of coloured or textured glass if required.
